Tired of the ever-present paparazzi on their doorstep – but not of the local nosheries across the way – Delta Goodrem and fiancé Brian McFadden have packed up their fashionable Woolloomooloo apartment to move to the ‘burbs.
Confidential learned a removalist truck spent all day outside the couple’s Cowper Wharf Rd unit packing up the contents of their place on Wednesday while McFadden surveyed the scene from the cafe across the street.
Following weekend reports that the couple have delayed wedding plans until next year, we were happy to hear the songbirds are not leaving each other – just the celebrity-laden suburb that has been Goodrem’s home for more than five years.
It is believed the pair rented a house in Hunters Hill some weeks ago, test-driving the suburb with a view to buying thereabouts.
It would make the Goodrem-McFaddens neighbours to Cate Blanchett and Kyle Sandilands, a man who rents in the best places.
While a source close to the pair said they seek much-needed privacy, no doubt the strict “no pets” policy at the exclusive Loo complex also prompted them to find a big backyard for their pups Aspen and Vail, a pair of spoilt-looking papillion shih tzus who wouldn’t have responded to more Aussie names like Perisher and Smiggins.
Although McFadden was not on the scene until late 2004, Goodrem bought her pad in Woolloomooloo Bay a year earlier and, with Russell Crowe and radio king John Laws as neighbours, reportedly plans to keep it as an investment property.
“I can’t make a comment about their private living arrangements,” a spokeswoman said. “But I will say the couple are very happy.”
Irish pop star McFadden, a Finger Wharf fixture for some time, oversaw the removalists from the Sienna Marina Cafe across the road. Our spy saw him there at 3pm, beverage in hand, and still at 7pm. Hard work moving house.

As one of Australia’s most awarded and successful female singer songwriters, Delta Goodrem was successfully treated for cancer (Hodgkin’s lymphoma) on the St Vincent’s campus when she was just 18. After focusing on her return to good health and her international musical career, Goodrem has always hoped to find a way to give back to those who helped her and to play a meaningful role in securing a brighter future for people with cancer.
Delta was delighted to accept the role of Patron of the new Garvan St Vincent’s Campus Cancer Centre and feels inspired to focus attention and donations to build an incredible new state of the art facility that will help so many Australians who will be affected by cancer. Delta is thrilled to be joining the Sisters in Dubbo at the fun run/walk at Dubbo Zoo on 24th May.

Delta Goodrem will sing the national anthem at next week’s Grand Prix.
Goodrem will add star quality to the event – which is desperately needed after the cancellation of the celebrity race.
She is expected to be in Melbourne with her fiance, Brian McFadden.
The Grand Prix is the first major event to feel the effects of the global financial crisis.
Vodafone has cancelled its extravagant trackside marquee this year.
The company, however, will still throw an annual party to be held at Eureka bar on Saturday night.
Red Bull, a company famous for putting on million-dollar parties, is also downsizing and its trackside presence will not be as big as in previous years.
The last couple of years Mercedes-Benz has thrown its Star Lounge parties at Eureka, but this year it’s all at the track.
Mercedes-Benz will host a ladies’ lunch on Thursday and host a party after the race on Sunday.
Lewis Hamilton will attend the Tag Heur party at Bistro Guillaume on Thursday.
Guests who will be attending Sunday’s night’s party include Shane Warne, Michala Banas, Tim Campbell, Benjamin Hart, Angus Kennett, Hamish McLachlan, Naomi Robson, Jo Stanley, Brett Tucker, Rhys Ulrich and Kym Valentine.

Delta Goodrem looks set for a double celebration at the end of the year with her fiance, Brian McFadden, hinting the pair will marry in December.
“We’re looking at the end of the year, Christmas time, in Australia,” McFadden said in Ireland this week.
“During the next couple of weeks, we’ll definitely be setting a date.”
The pair have been engaged for more than a year.
McFadden has two daughters, Molly and Lily-Sue, to former wife Kerry Katona.
The singer arrived back in Australia yesterday morning and quickly caught up with Goodrem.
Goodrem became the proud owner of two tiny puppies this week and introduced the cute-as-pie balls of fluff to McFadden over breakfast.
The couple were totally absorbed by their new pups called Vail and Aspen, named after Goodrem’s favourite ski fields, as they strolled around Sydney yesterday.

Delta Goodrem’s luscious long locks are a sight to behold, but possibly nobody enjoys them more than the Aussie songstress herself.
Like many other cancer patients, Delta, who underwent successful treatment for Hodgkins disease in 2003, found that her hair was part of the price she had to pay in the fight against the killer disease. Always “a long hair girl” growing up, she decided to go back to long hair as soon as she had the chance. “I’m just so fortunate to have my hair back. I want to make the most of it,” she said.
So impressive is Delta’s mane that she has been chosen as the face of Sunsilk.
She describes her hair as quite thick and different to that which crowned her pre-cancer. “It did change texture quite a bit,” she said. “It came back a little bit darker and curly. It changed completely, and then I had to get back into finding the right products for my hair.”
Delta’s hair care regime is not that different to most of us, although she does recommend a hair treatment once a week. And she admits that, like everybody else, she is not immune to having bad hair days but said hair, like other parts of the body, responded to how it was treated. “You just have to take good care of it,” she said.
Delta, 24, said she tended to keep her hair plain but still liked to try new styles.
Although she currently prefers her long hair to the feathery crop she adopted at the time of her illness, she still admires short hair styles. “I think short hair is beautiful on women,” she said, “I think I was very young to have an abrupt change like that. I think it took me a little while to ease into it.”
Unlike many celebrities who detest talking about their image, Delta is comfortable talking about her look and style.
She recently donned an additional hat as creative director for her national Believe Again tour, for which she adopted four signature looks created in collaboration with designers Bowie, Lisa Ho, J’Aton and Manning Cartrell. Delta describes herself as a creative person and says that creativity is not limited to music, but spills over to other aspects of her life, such as her sense of style.
“It’s just part of what I do,” she said. “First and foremost I’m an artist. I write songs. Music is my heart and soul. “But when it comes to style, and being in the public eye, I try and do the best I can. I feel very comfortable with that. It’s part of my life.”

The music industry is also doing its bit. Sony Music last night launched a fundraising album, Bushfire Aid: Artists for the Bushfire Appeal.
Proceeds from the sale of the album – which features tracks by Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Midnight Oil, John Butler Trio, Hoodoo Gurus, Delta Goodrem, John Farnham, Jessica Mauboy and Wes Carr – will go to the Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal.

After spending most of 2008 overseas, pop princess Delta Goodrem has been given an enthusiastic welcome home by fans at the start of her Believe Again tour.
The 24-year-old singer kicked off her first Australian tour in more than three years this weekend, with two shows in Newcastle and the first of three Sydney concerts on Sunday night.
Fiance Brian McFadden opened the show at Sydney’s State Theatre in a low-key fashion, offering up a few jokes for the audience’s amusement while a technical problem was fixed. McFadden started his three-song set with Twisted, off his latest album, before introducing a cover of the Guns `n’ Roses classic Patience to cheers from the young female audience.
“How do you know who Guns `n’ Roses are? You’re like 12,” he laughed. Like Only A Woman Can, which was inspired by Goodrem, was enthusiastically received, but it was clear who everyone had come to see.
Chanting her name, letter by letter, the crowd screamed and cheered as Goodrem appeared on stage in a blue sequined Bowie gown to her song Believe Again.
“I’m very excited to be singing these songs for you tonight,” Goodrem said, “We are all beyond excited.” Goodrem sang hits of her three albums, including In This Life, Born To Try, Butterfly and Mistaken Identity.
“We love you Delta,” screamed her fans.
“I love you too. You look lovely,” she replied.
Goodrem spent most of the past year trying to launch her career in the US, playing small club shows and performing on The Late Show with David Letterman. Despite being out of the public spotlight in Australia, her album Delta received the ARIA Award for highest selling album of 2008.
She seemed glad to be home on Monday night beaming in a series of outfits by Australian designers including J’Aton, Lisa Ho and Manning Cartell.
“I have come to terms with everything that has gone on in the past couple of years,” she said, introducing Out Of The Blue, which she wrote in 2004 about then-boyfriend Mark Philippoussis.
Goodrem is to perform in Adelaide, Wollongong, Melbourne , Canberra, Brisbane and Perth.
