Delta arriving at State Theater in Sydney, February 4th (HQs)

NEVER accuse Australian pop singer Delta Goodrem of not getting close to her fans, not after last night’s concert at Boondall.
At last night’s Brisbane Convention Centre show on her national Believe Again tour, she went on a lengthy meet and greet out through the crowd while the band kept on playing.
Back on stage she delivered a concert that ranged across her three-album career, showed off some dazzling costume changes of clothes from leading Australian designers and wrapped herself in an Australian flag as the audience got to their feet to join her in Advance Australia Fair.
The show might be extravagant but front and centre there is always that huge voice.
Goodrem isn’t as natural a performer or mover as, say, Kylie Minogue, but she’s chatty and warm and works hard at keeping the entertainment flowing for her audience, which ranges from pre-teens to grandparents.
The big pop anthems like I Believe and In This Life work best.
Introducing Out Of The Blue, her song about her battle with cancer, she explains it was more personally revealing than she preferred, but now she was completely comfortable singing it.
The night opened with a short set from her fiance, Irish singer Brian McFadden, whose charming gift of the gab makes him as amusing on stage as he is on TV.
His quick wit was so funny you could almost forgive him trying a Guns N Roses cover.
